Frozen Cable No Picture

Try figuring out the controller sequence with the scart cable in place for XBMC to switch to HD (read my sig) and then do it blind with the frozen cable. Hope it works for you.

I don't think you'll be able to turn on HD modes in MS dash with a SCART cable, even if it's full SCART RGB.
If you got an Xbox component cable and plugged the green into the yellow composite RCA phono socket, or even into SCART with an adaptor block, you might be able to turn HD on that way.
I think you need to enable HD before using the Frozen cable but here are directions.
So you know it's on MS dash when you hear the background sound.
One good thing about this is that with the D-Pad when your blind scrolling down and reach the bottom it won't jump to the top. You just can't go further.
So first you have 4 options. So just go down to the last, Settings, and A (select).
The next page has 8 options. The first, Clock, should be already highlighted. Second is Language. Third is Audio and Fourth is Video. It will be 3 times down on the D-Pad from Clock. Hit A (select).
At this stage I can't remember if it depends on having a detectable (component) HD cable or not.
Looking at my Xbox display now at the Video settings with a component to VGA adaptor the first, which is already highlighted obviously, is titled "Video Mode". Select (A) this for 3 options of Normal/Letterbox/Widescreen. Go down on the D-Pad once for 480p. Twice for 720p and 3 times for 1080i.
What I can't remember is if you're connected with composite/SCART do the HD options appear or not even though they obviously can't be selected.
Another thing here at the Video settings is making sure you're NTSC and not PAL which is possible as only PAL has 2 options. "Video Mode" and "PAL60".
OK finally the important stuff. If you have 4 options on the Video settings. It's usually good to try one at a time is the general consensus. So you go down once to the second option, the first of the HD modes, 480p. Press A (select) and we're on a new page. It has just 2 options. Not down or up anymore but left and right on the D-Pad. Again you can't "over-scroll" (I just made that word up)
"Yes" is left and "No" is right. So to enable 480p go left on the D-Pad and select (A). As soon as you select (A) 480p the screen jumps back to the previous page "Video" settings. You don't have to select back (cool.gif to get to it. Once your at "Video" settings it's back (cool.gif twice to the MS dash front. Incidentally "Video Mode" works the same ie no need to hit back (cool.gif once you've selected (A) from Normal/Letter/Wide.
The other 2 HD modes are exactly the same. Yes is left. No is right.
After all that I'm hitting the sack. Good luck.

Damn HTML the emoticons were meant to be a B in brackets. B as in the gamepad's B button.

You're misreading it - PiXEL8’s VGA patched firmware will only support 1.0 Xboxes - the Frozen cable will work on 1.0-1.5 xboxes with the right BIOS or softmod.
