Xbox All In One A/v Pack

don't you need more than 4 more wires to pull this off?, i mean the component it's self is 6, or are you combining the grounds?, and you need to run the selector switch to the AVIP plug to right?

You could technically do it with just one additional wire, since the choma and luma signal wires to the s-video jack would then carry Pr and Y signals in HD component mode. Actually since you use digital audio I would just take the right audio signal wire and connect it to the Pb pin on the AV plug, then pull the the Y and Pr signals off the S-video jack that way all of your video wires are still shielded by ground unlike with the USB wire. I would then just have the switch located on the plug.

The A/V pack for some reason uses the same GND to all Chroma and Luma signals. So I just used the USB shielding as the ground for the Pb signal and the red wire for Pb itself. Then the rest of the cables of the USB are for the Mode Select GND and Mode 1, Mode 3 signals.  Just added the signals to a 3 way switch and it works.  laugh.gif

As long as the Y cable is connected correctly you will at least get a B&W picture, have you tried connecting the yellow (composite) cable to a composite connection with your switch to HD mode if you get a picture then you jumpering is not set correctly, you should get no composite output when HD (component) is enabled. If you don't get a picture, double check the Y (green) cable wiring.

With Y connected I do get a B/W picture, but the picture is all jumpy and scrambled. I'm just gonna rewire the GND cable so it uses the Original GND for Chroma and Luma instead of the GND I wired and see if that's the problem.

Nice job ichigo3223!!!
Those things used to be for sale from Mad Cow. I've got one with the same connectors and switch plus it's also got a SCART output. But I must say the component signal coming from it is pretty poor so I went back to my component + RCA digital sound cable again.
