720p Via Component: What Happens If I Swap Cables?

It should just drop back down to 480i (standard resolution) when you switch back to composite as the switch should change the video output mode on the xbox (same as switching HiDef cable for a starndard AV cable). The video encoder, in your case a conexant will restart in the new mode and will only output that video standard. When you switch back to HD 720p the conexant will restart again and output HD 720p.
