Stereo Sound Problem.

I can't seem to get Stereo sound from my Xbox.  I have it set to stereo via the dashboard, I even bought a new cable today, the Advanced AV Pack and I still cannot get stereo sound from it.  My stereo system is fine and so is my tv, when I watch TV and Movies I get stereo/5.1 just fine but the Xbox doesn't seem capable of giving me stereo sound, please help...I need stereo sound, whats the point of playing games/movies/music without stereo sound.  I really hope it isn't the Xbox.  I don't see how it could be, its not even that old.
