I'm putting together a Mameox into a Jamma cabinet, and going to do this twice (2 cabinets, well, 3 actually)
since arcade 48-in-1 Jamma boards for sale are basically the same darn thing (a basic PC with rom images and a Mame program embedded in it)..
only multiplied price 5x what I can get a used xbox at Gamestop and softmod it..
What I've got.. an official MS A/V HD box with Y Pr Pb outputs.. from what I've seen of the few diagrams I've found, either the software or a grounded pin will switch the box to output R G B mode through those same wires (maybe, it's a 1.5) and from there I think I'm supposed to do the same thing as a SCART cable mod (resistors, etc) to get the signal to the jamma harness/ to the arcade monitor..
First off, anyone correct me on this and/ or point to a current diagram that would be proper for getting that RGB signal in the right form for that arcade monitor hooked up tp the jamma wiring..
( I searched the archives, but most every link was outdated or not quite enough info)
Also would like some opinions on
this thing: "Xbox to Supergun/Jamma cabinet system" that this one guy's selling on ebay. It would be less work for me, but I'd like some real-use input from folks who've used it. I'm doing this more than once, so I'd like to get it right the first time so the trickier conversion can go well.. (an old Galaxian sitdown cabinet)
As far as my original plan, I have a box full of xbox controllers I got for a buck apiece; bad mushroom joysticks, mostly.. not using those (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) that I am going to tap to make the controller interface to the cabinet joysticks..
but the video has been the basic challenge. I want to make sure I don't fry the box hooking it up. Oh, and a clear signal. Kinda important, that. Edit: Duh- Google the thing?
video diagram hereMuch appreciate any info folks can provide. Reverse is true if someone has a question _I_ can answer from my pre-soldering research..
