Huge Video Problem
« on: November 18, 2007, 11:20:00 AM »

Well today I decided to update XBMC (due to a glitch) and dvd2xbox. After I did this I noticed that it wouldn't boot to the dash. I tried reinstalling the dash again and still nothing. After this the video that is outputted is just running down the screen (If you know what I mean). I reflashed the BIOS, tried different A/V cables and tv's and still nothing. I even took out the chip. The stupid running video only stops at the error code (absence of a dvd rom because it was not connected). Any ideas?

possibly you changed the video format to pal/ntsc while you where upgrading xbmc
the new xbmc might have an option to change this back but if you can't see the video maybe you should download a dedicated video switching app.

Try using the Enigmah Video Mode Boot Disk. You can obtain it on xbins.org.
When you've downloaded it, burn it to DVD-R so you can boot from it.
Insert the disk into your drive and reboot the X-Box.
Give it about a minute to ensure its booted the disk, then press the "A" button once on your controller if you want to lock it into the PAL EEPROM setting. Or press the "B" button once if you want it locked for NTSC EEPROM setting.
Eject the disk, then reboot the X-Box. Hopefully that has fixed your problem. If not, then you have other issues.
I hope the above helps. Please let us know how you get on.
Good Luck!!!

Thank you so much! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)  What would have caused it to change video modes in the first place?

Unknown??? Possible corruption of your settings where it defaults to an incorrect video standard.
You really need to try the "Enigmah Video Mode Boot Disk", to be certain that those settings have been affected and that its not being caused by something else.
