350mb & 700mb Xvid's In Hd Upscaled ?

It all depends on the video bitrate of the file and what TV you are getting. Granted the 700MB file should have a higher bitrate so it should better than the 350mb one. The rule of thumb is the higher the screen size the more pixelated an image can look, so having the extra bits will help in keeping it looking sharp. I reduced an HDXVID file from 1080p to 720p (with a Video bitrate of ~ 6Kbps) and it look nice on my TV.

And the image quality of your screen also determines how good it will look. The contrast ratio plays a big part (the higher the better). If you take a look at some HDTV screens side by side in the store you can tell the difference (negating the fact that they might have different signal sources, the difference is still visible).
