Optical Output Not Working Properly.
« on: September 18, 2007, 07:57:00 PM »

I found this http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=247814 with the search (god I hope they fix the search, using Google for the past what, year, has been annoying).  I'm going to buy a higher-quality cable of a shorter length to see if that does the trick.  Best hope comes from the fact that this cat who posted the same thing three years ago says light was reaching the end of his line too.

New cable did it, works like, well, like new.  Though I still wonder how the first line got compromised.  I've had it for a while, I suppose it could have discolored or perhaps there was a bend that while not constricting the flow of light, caused improper refraction.  Who knows?  It works now, that's the important part.

Funniest thing is my old receiver probably still works 100%, so I got a new one for no reason lol.

Most likely your old cable got bent or pinched, you gotta keep them nice and straight, and only bend them in gradual curves, something a like 2" radius I think.
