720p Video
« on: August 21, 2007, 01:36:00 PM »

I don't have a 1.6 but I don't see why they should be any different. Most display devices of the last six years or so in the UK like plasmas and LCDs can support upto 1080i even though the displays native resolution is only 852 x 480 etc etc. If your display can do this then yes you will see a 720p image displayed sharper with less noise but text etc will be a little smaller. I have a friend with a Panasonic PW4 plasma about 5 years old with a native 852 x 480 resolution. It display games like ATV 2 etc in stunning clarity with less noise but no actual increase in resolution. Think of a big picture 16 foot wide 9 foot high. Look at it through a 16" x 9" shape and stand the right distance away. You see everything only smaller. That make sense??
