Green Dithering On 720p Screen

I have a V1.1 xbox fitted with DuoX2 modchip and running EvoxM8+ bios.  I'm using xbmc as my dash and have the hidef output dongle allowing me to feed HD component into my LCD TV.  The xbox is outputing 480i, 480p and 720p mostly correct. However the colours appear poor quality. Its as if they are dithered. Whats worse, on dark areas of grey or black i see waves of green dots all through the image. These wavy lines dont move. The green dots appear on the xbmc menus and when watching videos.

The output when using NTSC over an svideo cable looks normal. What would be causing this green dithering?
