Problem With Home Made Vga Cable

It's probably the resolution.

Are you using any of the higher HDTV modes, like 720p or 1080i?

Some monitors really don't like 1080i, so if you are using 1080i I would recommend that you try 720p and see if it works better.

NOTE: The reason why it doesn't happen in games is probably because most games and emulators only support up to 480p, and they do not use 720p or 1080i. (except the Xport emulators)
