No you cannot do that. The reason is this.

Not only does the standard "in the box" cable not have the correct wiring in the lead nor terminations in the AVIP, composite data is just that. It is two different video signals combined. 'S'Video serparates the brightness part of the video signal (luminance) from the colour part (chrominance) and presents them, on typically, a 4 pin plug. Composite video has the luminance and chrominance parts blended together.

'S' Video can be thought of as baby component, offering very much superior image with greater stability and definition. Search for the mods to acheive on the back of your xbox or go buy the right lead from eBay

i followed this tut but i got no picture only really bad sound

im trying to add s video and coaxial digital sound from my 1.6 xhox mobo but so far all i have that works is
a rca that plugs directly into a small s video adapter that needs the chromiance and luminence wired together just to get a picture any help would be apprecited as my tv blew up and my only way of using my box right now is with pc environment or tv tuner card with crap signal

i added coaxial audio and s video direct from the mobo do i need the other pins mapped to composite laeft and right audio and the fiber optic audio to enable this to work? i have pins 6 and 24 for coax audio and 17 19 20 an22 for the s video and the jumpers connected i get picture its just real dark with horizontal scrolling if i remove one of the jumpers with it work?
