Yep, as you've figured out, the Sync-on-Green VGA cable diagram is really just an HDTV cable with a VGA connector on the end.

The LM1881N-based diagrams are also just HDTV cables with VGA connectors, only they also add the H/V lines for Non-SOG monitors too.

Alright, just confirming something. I have a Sony P991 monitor (SOG compatible). So I just need the component cable (5 cables R,G,B and Audio L and R), the VGA to RCA Breakout cable (This one? I'm in UK http://www.libraprob.....reakout_cable ) and a VGA "Gender Bender", patch my BIOS and I'm all set?.

If so, I'll order the stuff immediately!.

That will work perfectly.

Just be sure you remember to turn on at least 480p in the Microsoft Dashboard before doing this mod.

i tried the vga mod the same way

Only it wouldn't display anything after the"X". dash would load, game would load just screen hung on the "X" Any ideas?

I did use a vga patched bios but without the sync sep( have a SOG monitor)

Should this cable work aswell? I'm planning on connecting my Xbox to my 19" TFT with this.

The only difference is that it's a DVI one instead of VGA.
