X-box Logo And Dash Not In Progressive Scan

While the MS dashboard is loaded, try pulling both triggers and pushing both thumbstick buttons (all four simultaneously). This should force your Xbox to output at 480p resolution.

Let us know if your Xbox still outputs 480i video after being restarted.

X-box Logo And Dash Not In Progressive Scan

Just wanted to throw out something else I attempted. I tried to hex edit the dash (as described elsewhere in the forum) to force progressive scan. This didn't seem to do anything... and shame on me for not reading the tutorial completely biggrin.gif, I powered down without replacing the file back to its original state which ended up with ugly Error 13's and 14's (which were in progressive scan strangely enough). I feel a lot less like a newbie after fixing it (I had atleast enough sense to backup the C drive and my eeprom).

Anyway, still open to ideas. Now that I am a bit more comfy with locking/unlocking, I might softmod with a newer ms dash and see if there are some improvements in a newer version.

If you want Force480p in a softmod, you need to recompile and redesign your softmod to support it.

I can easily do this for you if you like, just simply PM me with the following information about your setup:

1. Are you using an 'F' drive only, or are you using 'F' and 'G' drives?

2. Where is your dashboard located? (Example: e:\dashboard\default.xbe)

3. What files are currently on your 'C' drive?

4. Your e-mail address so that I can send you the files.

Ahh, I see you installed NDURE v3.0 with the Force480p patch, which is basically the same thing as what I was going to compile for you.  (My option would be no different from NDURE's Force480p option.) happy.gif

But as far as the logo itself goes, that is actually the stock BIOS of the XBOX that controls that, and the softmod itself isn't even loaded up until you see the 'Microsoft' logo at the bottom...

Currently, there is no way to force the logo to be in 480p. But, with the 480p patched NDURE you installed, everything else should work 100% in 480p. smile.gif

Have you thought about flashing your tsop? It isn't difficult on a 1.1 and you can flash IND-BIOS. That will allow you to customize your boot animation, and enable 480p.
