Picked up an xbox on my local CL. Supposedly the problem was only a DDE. However it was much more than a bad DVD drive.
The A/V connector appears to be shorting. If I position the a/v pack just right, the xbox powers on with no problems and I get perfect video. However, move the a/v cable a bit, and I get no video. If I power on the xbox with the connector in the wrong position, I get a flashing orange-green light. When the xbox is on and working well, if I move the connector I get a blank screen.
Is this something that can be repaired or am I doomed to make sure the cable is in perfect position and hope that it doesn't get worse. Can the connector be easily replaced or is that something that would be beyond intermediate soldering skills?
Thanks
