Some versions of Krayzie's softmod have 'Force480p' permanently enabled (you cannot easily disable it), which means that 480i TVs do not work right with that softmod.

The only way to disable 'Force480p' is to either recompile the NKPatcher used in his softmod, or switch to a different softmod entirely.

The only time 480p is forced is with the VGA/Prog NKPatcher...

No, you can enable each option independently. RGB Patching and Force480p are seperate functions in NKPatcher, and as such can easily be compiled into NKPatcher seperately.

I've noticed personally on a few of Krayzie's softmods that this option is indeed enabled, which is what is probably causing his problem.

I know they can be enabled independently, because I do custom NKPatcher compiling all the time, and my XBOX on my HDTV does have Force480p enabled. It is a great feature if your TV supports it.

Go ahead and take a look at the 'config' file in the source, you will see what I mean by them being independent functions.

I am using standard microsoft compsite cables

You mean the "red white yellow" cables? I wasn't aware those could do high def...

You might have to upgrade your cabling, I believe thats the only way to actually enable 480p up.

Softmods are garbage, try a tsop flash or just buy a chip, all of your xbox stress and problems will disappear completely. I personally have tried all types of mods, softmod, tsop flash, and modchips. If you are looking for a cost effective solution try a tsop flash they are flawless and I currently use it on an xbox 1.0, if you don't have the know how or are unsure, buy a chip. You will thank me later.
