Guide: How To Enable Hdtv With Krayzie Ndure & Xbmc
« on: March 30, 2007, 04:39:00 PM »

Hi, im from europe and I need to change it to ntsc first before all this. I can do that and then return to xbmc from the enigmah video selector and then go in the ms dash to change the options. But when I reboot my xbox switches back to Pal.

I didnt use krayzie ndure exploit (I had a chip first but softmodded it later, no need for gamesave), but I used the shadowdrive and all.

What am I doing wrong.

save and cut your xbox off and restart and head on back into XBMC.
this should solve your problem.
This utilizes your Second or "virtual/shadow C" and "virtual EEPROM" and saves the HDTV enabled settings.

I also dont get what your saying here, there is no option to save your new settings in msdash. And by cut your xbox off you mean just restart it?

too many steps for nothing. all you have to do is once booted to xbmc is click to settings/system/video hardware. there you have your options to set hdtv 480p, 720p and 1080i. once you have set this and rebooted xbmc then go back and click setting/appearance/srceen/resolution and set your srceen resolution. mine gets set to auto by default after selecting to enable hdtv settings which uses the 1080i resolution.

Heres a pic for enabling HDTV

i have done this with a brand new hdd install with xbmc only as my dashboard. so i know you dont have to access any other app or dash b4 you can set this up. just hook up your cables and boot your xbox to xbmc and set the settings and it will work fine.

Hi everybody,

I posted this solution on the german board www.evo-x.de some time ago:
http://www.evo-x.de/...d...page=5&sid=

The problem is the virtual eeprom on a softmodded xbox. You could't save any information to the virtual eeprom. If you change some setting and reboot the xbox, everything is in the original state.
On the other hand you can save the settings to the PHYSICAL eeprom, if the softmod protection (shadow c drive and the virtual eeprom) is deactivated (call Kryzie menu)
You could only update the virtual eeprom with the following workflow:

You have to start the xbox in unprotected mode to change the settings in MS dashboard. In the "past" you could start XBMC and press the right thumbstick and choose the MS dashboard...

After changing the video settings and saving automatically to the physical eeprom, the virtual eeprom (without the new video information) has also to be updated. This has to be done within the Krayzie menu "Update virtual eeprom" in two steps:
1. Backup of the physical eeprom (WITH the new video settings)
2. Update of the virtual eeprom (WITHOUT the new video settings) with the backuped physical eeprom (WITH the new video settings)

Then the xbox is running with an exact copy of the physical eeprom settings now.

This workflow is also relevant to change the region settings from PAL to NTSC with enighma tool to activate HD.
