(I figure this deserves a separate post...)
I uninstalled the softmod (via MechAssault) and video works perfect (Original Dashboard)!  Now, time to re-install it and see what happens.

EDIT:
Booting to UnleashX reveals the same results as before - Image is diagonally scrambled.
Flubber intro/Logo are still fine...

As a quick note, the cable I am using is a "universal" one, with a plug for playstation and another for XB360.  I tried it with my PS2, and got nothing but perfect, crystal-clear component output (IE, it works fine).  This double checks that there is not a problem with my TV.  I will be going to my friend's house tomorrow and bring my xbox stuff to try out on his HDTV, to see what kind of results I get on its native 1080i.


Could it be that something in my softmod is set to force Progressive-Scan?

I tried using SID 2.0 and it all worked fine.  I guess SID 4.5 is forcing progressive?  I am going to try 4.0 now.
