Switching Dashboard To Widescreen

The option for selecting PAL 16:9 is not availeble in the XBMC settings because the xbox is not saving the setting of widescreen when I boot up the xbox.

Is this because of a virtual EEPROM?

I have used unleashx to xhange settings to widecreen but then when I restart the xbox the settings are again not available in XBMC

Any ideas how do I get around the problem without removing my softmod??

Thanks

Created an account just so I could reply to this.  Just got first xbox yesterday . I did softmod using XboxHDM (Ndure) using the guide by user 'Textbook'

I had this problem too until following the following:

Q: Softmod went fine, but I can't change my video settings using the MS Dash. They change fine, but after I reboot, they go back to normal. WTF?

A: This is caused by a safety protection called Virtual EEPROM. In order to make your settings "stick" do this.

1. Create a file in the root of the E:/ drive and title it "EEPROM_off.bin" without the quotes. It can be any size.
2. After creating the file, manually reboot your Xbox by powering it off then back on by using the power button.
3. When the softmod loads back up, there will be no virtual EEPROM protection, so you can change your video settings and they should stick from now on.
