Is there possible to put all theese outputs on the xbox and then have a switch to select which output you want to use? Anybody done this before?

I've been looking at doing this for a while too. But I've decided that it would be easier to build a separate break-out box to house the connectors, as making a neat hole for a scart socket in your XBox case would be too tricky.. for me anyway.

For my break-out box I'm going to start with one of those scart socket adapters that already has the scart socket built in, http://www.maplin.co...e...rt&doy=16m2 and then fit the other options (which are round / drillable). So far I've dismantled an old basic Xbox lead so I can re-wire it to do what I want. I'm going to use a rotary 3pole / 2way switch so I can configure my Xbox for Scart (TV) or component (projector).

Only thing I'm not 100% sure of at the moment is if the RGB pins for the scart are the same 3 wires for component, but I'm guessing so...

It's completely possible, whether you want to do it with a break out box, or all internalized.  Check out this thread here:

The things labeled 1, 2 and 3 are the switches you spoke of to switch between different output modes.

Really nice! Thank you...

Is it possible to have the video composite and component output activated at the same time? I would like to have a LCD/TFT integrated in my box turned on at the same time as my projector is turned on, is this possible?

No it is not as the mode select switches decide what the encoder is outputing.

Yes the connection on the AVIP are the same. If using RGB for TV remember you must have composite connection in use as well as TV displays requires RGBCs ie sync on composite. RGB for VGA srill needs sync but it comes from the composite connection via an LM1881 or similar to provide H&V. If you plan on connecting an offboard transcoder like the X2VGA then sync comes from the Green hence the term RGsB and you don't need Composite sync as the xbox will be in component mode.

Spillage - one final question (promise)..
Will I run into trouble if I connect the RGB signals to the TV (RGB scart)  & the projector (component) at the same time.. even if they're not both switched on at the same time?? At the moment I have to use 2 different leads, and swapping them over all the time is a pain. Hope you can help smile.gif
