Ok that's you valid opinion, but my old Pioneer DV717 £500 would slaughter an XBOX for A/V as would my £3250 TAG McLaren DV32FLR but then again I guess it would aye.

I never said the XBOX is the 'best' DVD player available, but it definately beats most DVD players that cost more than a new XBOX would cost. ($150 XBOX vs. $200-$300 DVD Player)

Scaling is another discussion altogether. Image improvements are in perseived clarity rather than actual detail. You can't turn shit into gold by scaling

Yes, you are correct about that. But i'll take extra clarity in my DVD movies anyday if all it means is putting the DVD in my XBOX and firing up XBMC.  happy.gif

But yes, upscaling really does nothing but clean up the image.

No you're right you didn't say that. On a Sony Broadcast monitor the XBOX looks poo in comparison, having said that what other DVD players do you know of that let you play games, music, look at pictures, download porn etc etc.

Ghosting with the Xbox?

Solution: buy better quality AV cables, especially if you are going to use the Xbox with a resolution of 720p or higher. sleep.gif

I'm using the same cable (VGA modded to accept component in)  that goes from my projector to my DVD player (that works perfect & no ghosting?) I connect it to the Xbox with the original MS (expensive / quality?) HD cable  blink.gif

Anyone out there care to hold my hand through the vga bios flashing thing??  sad.gif
