still having no luck, i think the answer is to do with switching to ntsc in the ms dash using the enigmah disc, however, i have tried this and the enigmah disc loads, i select the ntsc option, then turn the xbox off as thats the only way to close down the enigmah program, then when i reboot, its still set to pal, what is weird is that the unleash dash, wil auto select all the hd res as its sees i have te hd cable plugged in. please help as im desperate to watch hd tv progs

I am experiencing the same problem.

This is my set up:
XBOX with XBMC-2.0.0-FINAL-SLIM-FIXED-T3CH
xbox PRO AV Kabel + HDTV & DTS (bought on eBay)
Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V657
7.5M VGA To Component Video 3 RCA Cable SVGA *UK* (bought on eBay)
BenQ MP610 Projector

The vertical lines disappear when the green component cable is removed. Which results in a colorless image.

My projector shows a 720x576 resolution at 50Hz.

Changing from PAL to NTSC doesn't change much.

The vertical lines are very light (yellow/purple)

Eureka, I solved it:

Once I changed the system to NTSC using Enigmah,  I was able to change the video settings of the MS Dashboard.  Enabling 480i, 720i and 1080i.

No more lines for me.

that is what i believe will fix my problem too, but i cant get the enigmah disc to change the settings to ntsc on the ms dash, i have burnt it to a dvd-r disc,i boot the xbox with the enigmah disc in the machine, it loads and then i select B to set the on screen wording to ntsc, then i turn the xbox off, as there is nothing else to select within the enigmah program, i get no wording telling me to reboot, or any confirmation that the settings have changed or will be changed, this seems alittle strange to me, but anyway, i reboot with out the enigmah disc in the tray and it loads the unleash dash, i then select the option that loads the ms dash, go to settings and videa and there is still the god damn pal-60 option, no hi def options, what am i doing wrong, this is driving me insane lol. can someone maybe give me a step by step guide as to how to use the enigmah disc, is there something i am supposed to do after pressing b , should i boot using the msdash first, etc etc etc, any ideas would be greatly appreciatted. thanks.

Try to FTP Enigmah to your XBOX in the APPS directory.  Set it to NTSC.  While in enigmah you can reboot by using the gamepad key combination (I don't know which one, but I think it's [black, white, L, R, Back, Start]).

getting somewhere now, after booting with the enigmah disc i then select ntsc and press l and r trigger and then the black button (not one person or thread has ever mentioned this, god knows why), this exit enigmah and boots the unleash dash, then i have to boot the ms dash from unleash and change the settings which works , but it never stays like that i have to change them every single time i want to use hi def, is there a way to make the hi def settings stay on?

also when i have the hi def settings switched on i then reload the enigmah disc keep the setting as ntsc but use the trigger and black buttons to get back to the unleash dash as there is no other way of doing it from the ms dash, if i reboot i lose the hd settings, the unleash dash looks good and nice and crisp a real difference, but when i then try and load xbmc it loads but the screen is messed up, best way i can describe it is bent, ie being pulled to the right and leaving major vertical lines, these move about and occasional clear when you move the cursor around the screen and they complettly go if you then choose to play a vid file or a dvd movie, any idea on these 2 probs, ie making the ms dash hd settings stick and also on this xbmc displaying issue.

thans in advance for any ideas.

I have a similar problem with vertical lines, and Im pretty sure its because of the DNIe that is forced and undefeatable by noobs like me.  You cant get rid of DNIe without the service menu and even with that Im not sure its possible.  But anyways, when I turn the DNIe demo on and see what is most likely just a simulated image of DNIe turned off on half of the screen, the vertical bars are gone or at least not as noticeable.  So check into any post processing engines or filters on your tv.
