SIDE NOTE: i think the bbs editing function for this forum is off. it keeps duplicating text when i press the back button...anyways.
Ok, with my ibm p260 that appears to support sync on green (because it's by default very green).
in msdash i enabled all 3...480p, 720p, and 1080i.
With a CONNEXANT chip, using the EvoX m8plus bios, and a rgb2vga adapter i get these results with XBMC (build date of XBMC October, ?? 2006)...
restarting xbox in NTSC (4:3)...
0. NTSC (4:3) = everything is tinted green, and the blacks are a little red.
restarting xbox in 480p...
1. 480p (4:3) = exact same thing as NTSC (4:3).
restarting xbox in 720p ...
2. 720p (16:9) = everything is REALLY RED with some black mainly...really really RED.
restarting xbox in 1080i...
3. 1080i (16:9) = exact same thing as 720p...you like red? GOOD!!!
i'm thinking that the softmod way might help?

This way is really bad. Again, i'm not using the modified cable, just the adapter. What softmod patch should i choose though? My chip is "CONNEXANT".
Alternatively, you can also use NKPatcher v10-vga10 for your VGA, which, IMO, is still the BEST way to use VGA. (I use it personally.) But, you need a RETAIL BIOS and a Softmod to use this. Modchips are not supported by NKPatcher, which is why my patcher was created in the first place.
But, my patcher has been confirmed working with Conexant encoders by myself, Textbook, Heet, Navillos, and many others. IMO, the 'red' tint problem is probably caused by an incompatibility with the way the XBOX produces it's sync signals, and your monitor. This is why I always recommend the LM1881N method over a Sync-on-Green cable.
NOTE: If this IS indeed the case, then NKPatcher will have the same 'red' tint problem.
NOTE: NOTE: You ARE using my patcher on a 'clean' BIOS right? As in, a recently downloaded, non-patched BIOS, correct?
