Streaming P2p Programs To Xbox.
« on: September 09, 2006, 03:23:00 AM »

You've probably heard of P2P programs like PPLive, PPMate, Tvants and so on. Programs who let you watch channels from all over the world, mostly in China.
Since they are showing many Premier League matches I always use this kind of program instead of regular TV.

But now I was wondering if someone could help me find out howto stream these channels to my xbox. I'd rather watch matches on my TV then my PC you know.

I know how to stream PPLive, Tvkoo and PPStream, but the channel I'd most like to stream doesn't work!

I start the p2p program and rightclick on the screen->properties. I then copy the address into notepad and create a .m3u file. I then upload that file to my xbox...works like hell.
But then, in PPmate when I do the same thing, and try to start .m3u file it's just buffering until 90% and then it stops. I have tried to wait for the last 10%, but it never starts.

I could really need some help here! Does anyone know what to do? Maybe a script that let's you run these links?

Thanks for help, and sorry for bad english! (blame my english teacher) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I do this routinely.  The way i do it is start the ptp program on my pc and then connect to the stream from my xbox.  I do this using .m3u playlist.  /3

start the channel in your p2p player and right click- properties (if you can't do this make p2p program play in mediaplayer and it will).  This will give you the information you need to put in your .m3u file (in tvants it will look similar to below) which is a simple text document name tvants.m3u containing the following
#
#http://YOUR_COMPUTER_IP:8900/tv.asf
mms://YOUR_COMPUTER_IP:16900

Copy .m3u file to your xbox and start it in XBMC .    You still have to start the program on your pc but you can watch it in another room on a big tv, if you have some kind of home network that is.
