No Hdtv Option In My Ms Dashboard

The 'Advanced RGB' cable isn't an HDTV cable. You need to purchase a 'Component Cable' for your XBOX. Once you have the cable you need to set the HD modes (480p, 720p. 1080i) in the MS Dash, and then your set.

EDIT: Unless of course you have a PAL console, in which case you would need to change the region in your EEPROM to enable HD resolutions. (This is probably not the case if you live in the U.S.)

Right, that is because you do not have a Component Cable plugged into your XBOX. Those options only become available when the XBOX detects a Component Cable.

You could of just went to the www.xbox-scene.com and go to tutorials, and make your own .. its quite easy, and you can add all three 3 packs !

Fixed, bought the component cable, connected it to the HD Pack from MS , booted on the MS Dashboard and the option was there  biggrin.gif  awsome! Its amazing how good it looks now on the Pioneer 436 on 720p.... perfect!

Yeah, Component is awesome on any TV. Too bad only a handful of games support 720p/1080i. But 480p on everything else still looks damn good.

My personal favorite 720p game is THPS4.

You may have noticed on the back of some xbox game covers there is the option to play the game in higher resolutions (high definition) than standard.
Now to allow this feature to open up you must firstly pass these criteria-

1/Have Xbox set to NTSC
2/Have an HD ready TV
3/Be using Xbox HD component cables
4/Set the options within the MS dashboard (does your TV support 480p/720p/1080i?)

Now my question is since it is ONLY NTSC settings that will open this option is it also necessary to have NTSC versions of the games?
I had to use this setup on my TV because both regular and advanced scart leads give a blurred image on screen when anything is in motion. So either way I will keep this setup.
But this question has suddenly been playing around with my paranoid side :eek:

I'm currently set to use any of the three resolutions offered in the original dash in widescreen format.
