Music Input Through Live Headset..
« on: June 05, 2006, 12:57:00 PM »

I remember seeing somewhere, a mod to the Xbox live headset, where there was a standard 1/8" headphone jack was soldered in with the headset CB, somewhere, and if you had a Stereo,/Mono Patch cord you could play music through the headset speaker AND it would send the signal through l ive, with a clear (clearer than a stereo next to you) sound for others to hear...anyone hear of this?

would it mess anything up if the Leads on the speaker (Headphone part of Headset) was touching the leads coming from the mic? Right now I have it hooked to the speaker so I can hear it. My friends want to hear it too, but originally, the wires from the speaker and the mic don't touch, that is why the plug on the end is Stereo, whilst the headset is mono.... mono input, mono output, stereo plug.

Everyone in MM hates it, but a few of my friends like when I play music, because they are too lazy to play their own... I tried it with it hooked to the mic leads, and recorded a message in Halo, it comes out alright, but ti is weird, Im thinking that it may have something to do with the 360 having to emulate everything, I mihgt try it on the original Xbox and see what happens.

Im guessing that the only thing that will happen when I connect the mic to the speaker is that I will be able to hear myself talk..I don't know though... my friend has a broken headset (at that cheap plastic spot where it attaches to the band) , so I mihgt just try it, and if it screws something I will just bug him until he gives me his old one.

I made a diagram of the wiring inside the original headset... lol

Thank You...lol
here is the complete (for now) modded headset...
It has MONO input, and it plays the music through the speaker. I didn't hook up the input to the mic, because it sounded like a record player at half speed when I tested it on the 360, and I still dont know what will happen if you connect the mic with the speaker... so yea piccy's are always fun...
