Sure, install Linux and Samba and share whatever you want.

Otherwise: nope, unless you have a music player which can copy/stream over regular FTP.

Who is "it"?  iTunes or Winamp shouldn't do this when playing music back across a network share.

THe download progress bar is from the app Netdrive which makes the xbox like a mapped drive, i can't see any setting in the app to allow the content to stream.

I also tried using webdrive, it does the same.
