So, how do i go about getting the best results with my Xbox and this tele.?

Do i need any special cables, or anything, special settings, etc?

Knew this would be the best place to ask.

Are they the ones that come with the xbox originally, yellow, white, red, or different ones?

Because, i want surround sound as well and i already have audio 5.1 cable.

take a closer look at the paperwork the TV came in.

it has a very informative diagram about "good" "better" and "best" choices for both video and audio.

No.  Component will have a red green and blue cable for vide as well as red and white for analog audio.  It will also have an optical port for a fiber optic cable for digital 5.1 audio.

Thanks for the advice, found a great Componenet Cable on EBay.  Im just waiting for it to be delivered now.

On another note, i have just found that if i use the cable that came with the xbox i can play pal/ntsc games fine, thats the yellow/red/white cable.

However, when i use my current optical audio cable, which has a scart on the end, i suffer with a flickering in the bottom fifth of the screen with ntsc games.

Does anybody know what might be causing this?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks.  Sorted it out now, my component cable came today and its all hooked up and working brilliantly.

Im sure when i start the XBox games the tele says that it is in 576i or something similiar, is there anyway i can make that any better or is that the best i am gonna get with the original xbox.

Nope.  Some games (check the link in my sig) support HD modes.  Most don't but some do, like Amped 2.  It looks great in 720p mode.
