i think he is saying ,, he made it with only the lm chip  and it works but it gives an all green image

i think that this is a good design , it works on the hdtv out put setting , which is a one of the standard xbox output modes , the max chip convert the signal to fit for a standard pc vga monitor , lm chip seperates the h/v signal
thats better than using a patched  bios to activate the vga output for the xbox , since you'll lose the color output (colors will go wrong ) if you try to use a standard av cable on your xbox to play on a standard tv , ill try it , im already half the way , thanks for the diagram

Well, his diagram will still need a VGA BIOS to function. This diagram does not convert the video standards, it only makes the XBOX's Component levels VGA compatible. The screen will still be green though without a VGA BIOS.

But, FASTDOM, that looks like a really clean diagram. If it fixes the power issues with the Component video lines, then we will have a perfect diagram for XBOX VGA. Great job!

P.S. Has anyone else tried this diagram yet? Preferrably with a 'white tint' monitor?

EDIT: Wow, I just realized this thread is over a year old... but still, has anyone tried this?

Ken Gasper is a friend of mine back when xboxhacker.net was first around.  He made the first transcoder for the xbox.  I still have one of his transcoders, and it worked quite well.  The first time i hooked it up to play Halo 1 MP LAN party was memorable; the 480p picture quality was very good.
