ok some info needed does the disk tray eject still

Just to try I put the original HDD back in and removed the modchip. Same thing..no video or audio. Also when it is ejecting the tray the video on the screen flashes. It is getting some sort of signal because the screen turns grey from black once I push the ON/OFF button. I also noticed a small piece of green (you have to look to see it) in the upper right hand corner but it was very quick and then the screen just turned all grey.. Same thing with the eject button but no green in the corner.

your eeprom could possibly be messed up but most likely the video has been switched from ntsc to pal

I have fixed many xboxs with the same problem if it was the bios you dvd tray would not eject.i have seen stranger things.could be a broken trace could be solder splash keep checking i have a feeling its something to do with the ram you removed losts of very tiny risisters next to the ram pads
