With the purchase of my xbox 360, I've moved my original modded xbox to the family room. Since then I've purchase the media extender for the original xbox, as the price has dropped significantly.
My xbox 360 connected right away to my media center pc, however the media center pc doesn't recognize the original xbox, as a result, I can't get the xbox side software to install.
I suspect the following as being the problem.
I accidently erased my serial number, mac address and live key from my bios when I was playing around trying to update the bios. Since I have the xbox 360, I wasn't concerned with not being able to play on live with the original. Since then I've replaced the Mac Address making sure the address starts with 00 50 F2 but I think the other key's being empty may be keeping my media center pc from seeing it.
Can anyone confirm this?
On the PC side I'm running MCE 2005 with Media connect 2.0.
The xbox runs and plays normaly (with the exception of live of course) in both modded and unmodded mode.
