ok, but.. if the cables are the one who are faling, i should get this "interference" on 480I as well or even 720P.

Yes, but I assume you set your eeprom to NTSC mode, therefore the game should switch to 480p, otherwise if it was true PAL it would be 576p.

I live in the US, so my xbox is already running NTSC i guess.  I'm not sure what resolution it runs at when its running the PAL games, maybe 576p instead of 480p, i cant really tell, my monitor just plays them is all i know.

Like Jameson said, i have my cable set to component mode so it doesn't display in 640x480, it displays in normal hd resolutions.

All i know is my monitor doesn't support 480i and probably 576i if that exists, but it does support 480p and higher and i can play those games on my monitor.  Hope this helps.

Well then is true, my PAL games are not displaying this lines, only NTSC games and yeah the pal games are running on 480P. I can tell since my projector detect the source signal and it says 480P, otherwise it will tell 576P or 576I or whatever signal they produce.  Of course i have my xbox modded to make this posible.

I had True crime wich is HD game and the projector detect 720P signal.

Now the problem is reduce to 480P games being native NTSC games.
This lead me to wonder if the prolem is for real the cables or is on my mod xbox instead of the cables...

If the cables are the problem, they should make this lines on Pal games as well...

PS,
There are any way to see if a game is pal or ntsc game? a App or something. Since there were 2 releases od True crime and i don`t know wich one i have.. PAL or NTSC..

Yes, higher HD resolutions should be more prone to interference and higher quality cables should probably make a difference.

I tested 480p on my friends TV and it was so stable, my projector gives me a much worse unstable picture.

hello - i hope some clever chaps can help me out

I have .

1. UK xbox (version 1.2/3 i think)
1. UK LCD TV its a viewsonic 3000W http://www.viewsonic...3000w.htm#specs
1. Xbox High Def AV Pack
1. mod chip xecutor 2.6

to get the Xbox to use my high def pack i have changed the region of it to america and then i went into MS dashboard and selected the hdtv options.

i run all my xbox things through the Xbox High Def AV Pack - when i turn my tv and xbox on i press the "YPbPr" button on the remote and my xbox displays the dashboard.

Now i mostly use XBMC and that all works fine play back is superb for AVI movies etc .

but the one issue i have is in games and on certain dashboard skins (i assume its on all skins just sometimes easier to spot) i have what seems to be purple and green vertical lines down the screen top to bottom about an inch thich each - now for some reason its not noticble under XBMC and avi playback but when i :

watch dvd's
play xbox games
on some dashboard skins
i get the lines.. now i assume its something simple to fix - when i run xbox through rgb its fine .

Any help would be great

thanks in advance!

i had a similar issue, my screen would "split" in two, i disabled the 480p option and left 720 and 1080 and works great now, dunno why. maybe it will sort your issue too.

I have another question though.  480p works great for me, but when i run 720p the image looks great but it shakes a little like the screen is vibrating.  this isn't too bad in games, but its a little annoying in XBMC where there's a static image.  ANy solutions?

I didn't mean to say that every VGA monitor will run in HD.  I guess I should have said that "VGA is capable of HD modes on some monitors"...  I am aware that HD resolutions are not standard VGA resolutions, and I read complaints from people all the time that HD won't work on their monitor.

Vertical Lines From My Xbox On 480i And 576i Only!
« Reply #27 on: November 05, 2005, 04:03:00 PM »

Hello folks! I'm hoping someone will know whats going on with my situation, which is this: I just purchased an 27"HDTV and in the M$ dash I set it to 1080 under the video settings(which my TV supports). I rebooted with the chip on and my dashboards look great but when I start a game I've got faint little vertical lines throughout the screen. I read the pinned topics for this particular forum but couldn't find anything that helped me out. Any suggestions as to why this might be happening and what I can do to remedy it would be much appreciated! Just in case it's needed: I have a 1.3 with a Xecuter 2.6 running Evox from the latest Slayers. The only settings change I made was mentioned above. Thanks!
