I get this too, but only if the color is light or white...
I got a projector and 100" screen, and I see the lines very easy, and it's bugging me.

If I use my vga cable and vga bios the lines are gone... but with the same resolution with HD-cable (480p) they are there..

I would like to have VGA all the time and get around overscan and stuff, but in VGA the higher resolutions doesn't work.
I think I can use a x2vga to get the higher resolutions to work.. but money is a problem !

Anyone who had success with VGA bios and 720p? I get a pink picture or purple.. It's like the color's depends on the sync signal... Maybe if someone would test the other sync chips out there and see if we can get a good sync without need of a vga bios.
Maybe a simplified version of x2vga wich ca be built in a HD-Pack by noobisch users like me.

The purplish picture might result from an incorrect setting for the color sceme. When you have an input that is RGB and you try to output it in YPbPr, it looks purplish.

I would try using 720p with a normal bios if the VGA bios displays a purple image. I know this seems like it wouldn't work, but i'd give it a try.

Damn!! i though i was the onlyone with this problem thank god i find this thread.. i like to see im not the onlyone.

i got the infocus 4805 yesterday and while everything worked great i had this same problem with 480P signals..

I´m still looking for an answer or resolution since this is not normal at all.

where i should start?
does anyone find any solution for this?

I removed the top shielding 1 year ago. Could this change anything also I got a cold cathode and those inverters maybe interfer with the video signals?

This is not an XBox specific issue. Most if not all of your are probably running the basic component cables that came with the HD pack you bought. Therein lies the problem. Cheapie cables are basically just stranded copper wire coated in plastic shrink tubing to prevent shorting. Running these within 12" of your power cable, TV, Amp and especially speakers is causing all sorts of interference.

Just as a note, most pal games i play support 480p, for example DOA3.2, burnout 3, EA sports Cricket 2005, Tiger Woods 2005, and many more.

You can buy any xbox av cable and use it as a VGA cable. I took an xbox cable, took apart the plug that connects to the xbox and desoldered all of the connections, then i connected all the wires i needed to the 15pin plug of an old pc video card. This works great, and i dont have these line problems.

I have another question though. 480p works great for me, but when i run 720p the image looks great but it shakes a little like the screen is vibrating. this isn't too bad in games, but its a little annoying in XBMC where there's a static image. ANy solutions?

VGA is fully capable of HD modes. I run mine in 720p and true 480p. All you need to do is solder a couple wires differently so that HD mode is enabled instead of VGA mode. iND-BiOS 5001 VGA is a very nice bios (256K and fully configurable), and there a very few games that "go green"... morrowind, kotor 1+2, jade empire, and the splinter cell games... some of my favorites, but I can just use s-video on my video capture board for them with only a small loss in quality.
