Try lowering the resistor (on your lm1881 sync separator circuit) to 340K OHMs.  All the guides say 680K ohms, but it didn't work for me.  A 470KOhm worked for me, but I think this is how somebody put it:

680KOhms = 15Khz frequency
340KOhms = 30Khz frequency

Hi,i realized vga cable and it seems to work but i've some problems.My monitor is a LG flatron 795+ and at the beginning,when i turn on xbox i see "loading ind bios" then monitor tell me "out of frequency".I'm using a  680 kohm resistor and sometimes monitor turn on/off(every 6 seconds).I read that probably is a dash problem but..what should i do?thank you...

i have a problem:i see the phrase "loading ind bios" then monitor tells me "out of frequency".I don't know why avalaunch dashoboard is stable on 32Khz O and there are NOT flashes on<off<on of the monitor but if i try to go to ms dashboard,play a game or doing other things monitor begins to flash on off on every 6 seconds...I tried to substitute the 680 resistor with one of 340 but in this case i see only avalaunch dashboard and black screen on every other things...What should i do?thanks...

Make sure your video settings in the MS Dashboard are set to:

Aspect Ratio:  Normal
480p: Yes
720p: No
1080i: No

Is your Xbox NTSC?  If it is PAL, it will have problems because it doesn't have HD.  If you are properly seeing "Loading iND BIOS, then it seems to be working in 480i and having problems elsewhere"  By the sound of this, please make sure you used the HD jumpers and not the VGA jumpers.

I have made my own VGA tutorial HERE.

Basically, you need:

Modded, NTSC, 1.0-1.5 Xbox.  If it's PAL, you can use Enigmah Videomode Switchdisc to switch to NTSC.
Use the HD jumpers.
If using on a SOG, nothing extra is needed, just straight hookup
If building circuit, use the correct resistance (680kohm carbon film resistor with 1% tolerance or a 340kohm carbon film resistor with 1% tolerance)
Enable 480p, disable 720p, disable 1080i

There is also another way of separating the sync signal, and it is internally, so it would only be helpful for people making a VGA port without an SOG monitor, but I think may add it to the tut.  As well as the NTSC/PAL I forgot.

my theory:

i have seen these problem on another forum about the flashes in 480p with the lg795ft+.The monitor can't stabilize the horizontal sync, it causes the flashes:

480p hsync is a little unstable - some flashes
xebian with cromwell bios (after intall) - the initial bios screen (800x600@60)   works fine and when linux starts, the image is too unstable (some flashes of good image).

my question:

the internal sync method, should provide it to my monitor a more stable h sync pulse? or it is the same pulse?
