You need a hi-def tv with an HDMI input to use it, I doub't you could build one, and there are currently no xbox compatable ones.

HDMI is a full digital signal.  The XBOX (and XBOX 360 for that matter) only output analog component video, so there is no HDMI output option.  You can convert analog to HDMI using a $300 adapter, however, you are digitizing the lower rez analog signal so you won't get any improvement in picture quality.

So, no, you cannot do HDMI with the XBOX or XBOX 360.

Are you sure the 360 has no chance of doing HDMI?  Sure, it came with only component video, but are you sure there is a technical limitation to later offering DVI  or HDMI via a new AV adapter?

Pretty sure, but not 100%.  According to the FAQ:
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=415408

No one has been able to confirm the XBOX 360 has any hardware to support digital video output.  Seems to me if the A/V port actually had pins dedicated to DVI and HDMI output, we'd know by now.  I tried to confirm this prior to and just after release and all I heard was "I don't know" and "No" and no "Yes"es from the developers.
