lo everyone,

just for info: my xbox (1.6) is softmodded, running xbmc by default

i got a a/v advanced cable (not an official MS one, if that matters) with an optical digital output. i connected it to my digital receiver. now when i turn on the options to use dolby digital output in the ms dash it won't save the settings. like after a reboot it is back to "stereo". xbmc as well switches the "use ac3 receiver" and "use dts receiver" options off. also on the display of my receiver i can see that all the signals i get from my xbox are pcm and not ac3. i have no idea why that is. do you?

(and yes i tested it with actual ac3 sources like dvd and mpeg4 files with ac3 audio streams)
