The game is in black and white because 1) your telly doesn't support NTSC, and 2) your dashboard is set to auto-change the video system based on game region.
Instant solution: Turn off the video auto-switch from the dashboard (or if you don't know how, lock your HDD from X3 Config Live) - this will force the game to run in PAL mode. Most NTSC games will work in PAL mode, but movements especially in videos can be jerky (refresh rate mismatch).
Better solution: Get an RGB SCART cable and it will work just like that.
1) About my telly not supporting NTSC, how can I find that out? When I connect a DVD player it works fine with colors and stuff.
2) Can you please tell me how to set the auto-change off?
I can tell you a few things about my HDD. Right now I believe it is already locked. In the dashboard settings I can see that the lock is enabled. Can you tell me how to take the lock off?
Also, in the dashboard setting, it is set on PAL. Can you tell me how to change it to NTSC? Is it because of the HDD lock that I am unable to make these changes?
Thanks a ton for your inputs. I really really appreiciate it.
