Hip Gear Looping

Can anyone help me? Ive posted in the modding section but had no replies, here is my problem.

Ive got a hip gear wired upto my xbox, screen powers up fine with external power supply, connected to the composite connection as in all of the tutorials.

but... when I use it, I get a looping image, Ive switched from pal to ntsc with enigma video switcher and still get the same looping image.

a bit more info for you, Ive just powered up the xbox with the screen on and the blob screen shows fine on the hip screen, when I get to dash it loops, then if I go into enigma it goes fine again!!!

Anyone got any suggestions?
