It is a 600 watt Pioneer set. Here is a link to a bunch of information about it:

Thanks Ed. I wouldn't mind spending 20 bucks or so on the wire, so if you see a better one, please let me know.

Also, where does that wire connect to and from?

Oh, and is this the Xbox thing I should get:

Or is it this:

Neither of those.  Those offer optical audio, but they also only offer component video for HDTVs.  Unless you have an HDTV you want this:

Ah shit, I didn't even realize that picture doesn't show the reciever. But yes, I do have one and it has a shitload of connectors on the back for plugging stuff in. I am pretty sure I saw something for Digital Out for whatever it is I need. Here's a picture of my receiver:

That's the newer version, but it's pretty much exactly the same.

Hm...weird.

I was listening to music. The song is called Meant to Live by Switchfoot.

At the beginning, the music goes from left speakers to right speakers.

Well, both the front AND the rear speakers were doing this. Like, when the sound was on the right, both left speakers were disabled, and then they would switch.

I was under the impression that the rear speakers were always the same.

The amp can deal with a stereo source however it wants.  It was probably making the rear speakers just act like stereo B speakers.

Unless you were playing this from a DVD-Audio musci disc that was encoded in surround?
