the OHP projectors are pretty crappy actually,
if you want to have a REAL DIY projector goto
diyaudio.com and click on "the moving image" link
diyprojectorcompany.com
lumenlab.com
3dlens.com
basically the overhead projector is just a starting point for diy projectors. you want a 7-17inch lcd, a 400w HPS(High Pressure Sodium) ballast(transformer, Ignitor, and Capacitor)
http://www.goodmart....ucts/243289.htmand a 400w MH (metal Halide) bulb
specifically the UHI-S400DD USHIO 400W Bulb
http://www.atlantali...UHI-S400DDUSHIOthis bulb burns at 5200k so you actually get whites that are white and your colors arnt off. plus the bulbs last better than 10x that of an OHP
then you need some freynal lens and a Triplett lens, build a box for it all and enjoy
the first three sites i listed all have free plans on how to do it right. i started with an ohp and the results arnt Terrible, but they arnt great especially if you have any sort of ambiant light coming into your room. the bulbs and ballast run about $100, which isnt much more than you will pay for an OHP, $50 is pretty standard. Hope this helps sway you. PM if you want any help or have questions
