Just out of curiosity. Is there a list of LCD monitors supporting 1280x720@60Hz mode? Is that mentioned in the specs of monitor or is it a "it just works" thing?
I think widescreen LCD might do that but is there any 4x3 LCD model out there doing that?

my one 15" monitor supported 720p wonderfully, but my 19" MAG monitor messes with the top inch of the 720p picture (it smears it accross the screen).  its playable, but not worth it.  

I think your best bet might be to ask bestbuy or someone if you can try your xbox on their display units to test if they work well (although they might not like the whole modded thing).


oh, one other thing, is that if you plug in a monitor then turn the xbox on, it might not work, but if you turn the xbox on, then plug in the monitor it might.  just a thing to try if you think your monitor isn't working.  this got many lcd models to work for me.

Your monitor has to be able to do 1280x1024 to display 1280x720 (720p). Most lcds only go up to 1024x768, along with many 17" crt monitors.

Same here. Native res 1280x1024 and no support for 1280x720@60Hz. Samsung SyncMaster 191T.
I wonder if any LCD with native res of 1280x1024 supports 720p at all.

I'm not worried about SOG monitors, just any monitors that are known to support 720P, and 1080i.  Everyone has different theories about what enables this, khz, native resolution, and other ideas.  Just seeing if anyone knows what monitors actually do this.

This is what I meant when I said that you guys must be relieved that an official, flawless vga adapter will be released for Xbox360.
