Help With Tv/xbox Hdtv Settings
« on: August 14, 2005, 12:18:00 PM »

I can't seem to get as clear of a picture as I'd like with my Xbox.  Maybe I've got something screwed up with my settings.

My tv only has the options for 540p and 1080i.  The Xbox doesn't have a setting for 540p so what should I select?  From what I understand no xbox games run in 1080i.

If I select 540p on my TV and 480p on the xbox would that be the way to go?  Should I go ahead and set them both to 1080i?  Should I select all three on the xbox?  I've done some reading but I'm still confused.

Also, what is Velocity Modulation and Black Level Expansion?  Should I select those as well?

I have a 43" Hitachi rear projection tv.

Thanks

I have a suggestion, why dont you try out all of the things you said.  You'd get a faster answer and i'm pretty sure your tv wont explode.

I have tried them all and I think I have it as good as it can get.  I must just be picky or something.  The dvd playback just isn't as sharp as I would like (probably because it is only 480i) and the games aren't what I thought they would be either...I must not be playing the ones that support 1080i.

Isn't there a list somewhere of the hi-def games?  I finna have to search around a bit to see.
