Video Ground For Hip Pad

To wire the hip pad you need to solder to the scart.  there is a video output and a video ground. Does the video ground have to go to the video ground on the scart or can it go to any other ground in the xbox?

Don't know about the hip pad specifically, but some generic advice is:
It's generally best to connect signal grounds to their respective positions. If it's any other ground, it could have a DC offset, or it may have interference, which is easily observed on the video signal.
