Alright, i just bought a non working box off ebay, i havent really done anything with video or audio so im sorta in over my head here so any help is appreciated.

ok, when i turn the xbox on, the front LED stays solid green, so i know my component cable is in right, i tried multiple cables and xboxes so i know its not the AVs on my TV and i know its not an open circuit in the component cable.

additionally, by some miracle i caught a glimpse of the time setup thing that the xbox does after the clock needs set again.  it was all screwed up but i could make it out.  so the xbox boots, but my component cable connection seems bad or something.

ANY help would be much appreciated

the only thing i can think of is possibly an EEPROM error,  the box is a v1.6 and i cant find anything on how to fix this problem beyond v1.1

There is no TSOP on a 1.6 Xbox. There may be something wrong with your video cable output, I saw a post on this sort of thing awhile back and I am looking for it right now. If you can, try a pair of HDTV cables (if you have an HDTV) or a VGA pack that you can hook up to your computer.
Anyway im going to look for the thread really fast, so just hang tight.

*EDIT*
Found it, take a look at it and maybe you'll find a fix, I hope you will. Someone posted about replacing something on the connectors inside the xbox, to me it seems like your Xbox is working fine but the connector is just having problems. Anyway good luck.
