Confused Over A/v Output Diagrams
« on: August 06, 2005, 05:05:00 PM »

hello there guys.

i got hold of two digrams that allow you to get heaps of different a.v outputs from teh xbox.

i am planning to, on my new case, have a lot of the different a/v outputs, so that i can run it in different modes, depending on where the xbox is. im goign to have three buttons at teh back of my new xbox case that im makign, so i can choose what a/v mode the xbox is in.

the outputs that i want to get are:
-Componet video
-D-Sub Video
-Composite Video
-Sterio Sound (the two rca ones, like the standard av kit)
-Coaxial digital sound

i ripped a board out of my old dvd player, and it has the connections for these.

so anyway, i got hold of these two diagrams:

so is it just me, or are the two diagrams conflicting?

cheers

I used the top diagrams to mod my Xbox. I have all the outputs except vga. I followed it exactly ands every thing works. It was really hard to solder all of them though.

I believe you do but I am not positive. The VGA is the only output I didn't do.

Yeah, I installed three toggle switches in the back of my case.

Yes, it is possible.  I have done this to my xbox and it works very well.  The top diagram worked for me.

The bottom diagram is the pinout of the connector of your video cable/AV pack that plugs into your xbox.

Yes, you can ignore it.  It is handy to have those pinouts if you were going to modify your cable but since you are going to be putting your xbox into a new case, just solder the wires directly to the bottom of the motherboard

And good luck.

Hi. What do you mean with conflicting ?
One have VGA output and the other has SCART (A common port in Europe).

I made the second diagram btw.. Is there some other problem i have missed ?

I have one clue.....
I dont know why there is a separate ground for any conector...
seems like all the grounds are all the same, right?

blink.gif It's the same on both pictures. What i wondered about was what is so conflicting between them other then one is for RGB scart and one is for VGA.
