2.1 Speaker System
« on: August 03, 2005, 11:21:00 PM »

Hi All,

I know you can connect your speaker system to the Xbox. However, most of the speaker systems that are connected to the Xbox used some digital/optic cable to connect.

I would like to know if its possible to connect my Xbox to my Creative T3000 2.1 speaker system? It doesnt use the digital/optic cable, but uses the "Green Input" at the back of my Audigy.

You can't use pc speakers, numbmnuts. What is it going to use to decode anything? The xbox doesn't have a sub jack.
Get a receiver with digital/optical jacks. If you did your research, you would know this.  dry.gif

What are you talking about? Of course he can use PC speakers, but only the ones that either have a digital input (decoder), or a set of L/R analogue jacks. I don't know the details of the T3000 speakers. They may not be compatible.

I've got an Xbox set up in my arcade cabinet using my old Creative 4 point surround PC speakers. It uses standard analogue input and splits the low and high frequencies for the sub and tweeters.

i dont think thats the right adapter, if your speakers plug into your sub and you PC goes to the sub with the green headphone jack, then you need a female rca to connect your your red and white from your xbox av cable in the red and white female to a head phone jack adapter that you normally plug your pc to, but instead plug your xbox to it

i am 100% sure that you will be getting 100% correct sound out of that setup, you wont lsoe any signal strengtrh at all.  as this is the identical way that i have my PS2 setup (sucks).  since the xbox is outputting stereo sound, and the adapter i supplyed you with will keep that stereo signal and supply it to your speakers.  then the crossover network in your speakers will split the Hz between your satilites and your subwoofer.

I don't know Carlo210 who made the original post saying you couldn't do it, but I am going to defend him a bit here.
