1080i looks like crap on my computer crt flat screen sony monitor.  The colors are not as rich, and the refreash rate is shaky, and almost impossible to look at.  720p is much better imo, on computer monitors that is.

My monitor settings said 1080i was 800 x 600 res; probably the closest res it could detect 1080i to.  Also, the H freq for 1080i was 33kHz, while 720p was 45kHz, and 480p was 31kHz.
