Not sure its (currently) possible to make outlaw tennis (pal) auto select. The game moves the interlaced / progressive flag into a dword first (unlike other games) so its not possible to simply replace it with 00.

IDA doesn't seem to understand the whole xbe and there are loose / missing functions and it isn't showing where this dword is used again. This could be related to the xbe being build using a newer sdk. I think I would need a newer upto date xbox 'flirt' file (xbox.sig) to progress with this one.

replace
C7 05 C0 39 3D 00 20 00 00 00

with

90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90

Second hex seems 100% ok from what i can tell.

It takes me a while to test them with all the files as i have to upload the whole game to the hd and I only have about 2-3 gb and it goes sloooooww (300k/s)

As for the first hex ... its at Ofs 1234077  or  0x12D49D which ever method you use, I'm using hEdit's hex search and it finds it np.

default.xbe from pal-otp fyi wink.gif

2nd hex works great.
It works in 480i if I set the ms dash to 480p off.
So I guess it autoselects fine.

Thanks

I'm getting something different... I fixed the default.xbe to 420p (C7 05 C0 39 3D 00 40 00 00 00) and when i booted it up, it starts to load and then freezes.  Not sure what's going on.  I'm using the x2vga adapter.

Not sure why that is, either hex should work. Since it takes ages to load the game to HD after patching I fire up the xbe only and check if the DDE is displayed 480p with my x2vga.

The 2nd hex I have now tested with all the game files from DVD-R and seems to working ok with my x2vga.

I would recommend using the 2nd hex over the first since it will allow autoselect between progressive and interlaced.

USE THIS HEX

Search
CODE

C7 05 C0 39 3D 00 20 00 00 00

Replace with
CODE

90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90

notes:

Make a backup of the original xbe, rename it default.bak or something before patching (I think there is one already on this ISO - possibly not media patched..)

Patch the default.xbe and not the ISO

If it doesn't work the first time delete the patched xbe and copy your backup xbe and patch that and try again.

Search for the hex and then only patch the difference.
