Honestly, buy a cable on ebay for about $7 is probably easier unless you have two plugs hangin around.

I mean male to male vga connectors are really common, i got one with my upconverter to connect the upconverter to the pc, and another one with my projector.  its not odd for your tv to have this type of plug, its the normal setup.

Seriously, if your vga box is a pos linedoubler (i.e., not a transcoder) then cut your losses now.  The picture quality is horrible; much worse then standard TV 480i.
