I had someone bring me a failed mod attempt with an X3 and the said they hooked up a wire wrong, I could not get exactly what they did out of them and sold them another MB. It come up to a black screen with or without the modchip(x3) installed. The only bad trace I found was on the eject and power on circuit board. The on button would not work but the eject button would power up the unit. I repaired the trace and the button now works but I still get a black screen. Is this MB repairable or is it just good for parts. The trace on the Eject board smoked pretty bad but I can find no physical damage on the mother board. I haven't tried to check any resistors yet or other components on the MB. Does anyone have any ideas or is it more likely the MPCX or convexant chip is bad now.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I also have a MB that boots up with a mod chip and probably just needs a tsop reflash. But someone used super glue to try and hold down a chip that would not stay seated with a solderless adaptor. When chip is enabled it won't play about 75% of games. some play, some freeze, some won't even load, and others will play partly. would the super glue have an affect on the chips it is covering and maybe be a little conductive and acting like a cap or resistor. The board worked fine (with modchip) before the glue. This was not done by me
